April 16 - Happy Easter!

"The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter."

 

This is my first Easter without my mom and there were several times this week when I felt very sad and tearful. While my heart aches and I miss both my mom and dad terribly, I rejoice in the faith they have given me. "For God so love the world that He gave his one and only Son; that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) How joyous must this day be for Mom and Dad celebrating with Jesus and those that have gone before them! I know they are with me always in spirit, and while I give myself permission to grieve, I won't stay in a place of sadness. I will rejoice in new beginnings and be thankful for my many blessings!

Today, whether you are inspired by your feelings of Easter and Passover or simply by the beauty of a spring flower, take a moment for yourself and be mindful of your blessings, new beginnings and hope. Happy Easter!
